This Privacy Policy explains how Calldrive, LLC, doing business as Your Tax Buddy (“Your Tax Buddy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit yourtaxbuddy.us (the “Site”), submit a form on the Site, or call the phone number listed on the Site. It also explains the privacy choices available to you.
Your Tax Buddy is an intake and referral service. We are not a law firm, accounting firm, tax preparer, or government agency, and this Policy does not create any professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us. See our Terms of Use for the full description of our service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you fill out a form or speak with us by phone, you may provide your name, phone number, email address, a general description of your tax situation (for example, which agency contacted you and the general topic), and anything else you choose to tell us.
Please don't send us sensitive identifiers. Do not include your Social Security number, taxpayer ID number, bank account or card numbers, online-account passwords, or photos of IRS or state notices in our forms, chat, or an unencrypted email. We don't need this information for an initial conversation, and we can't guarantee the security of information sent to us this way.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information when you visit the Site, including your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, operating system, the pages you view, links you click, the site or ad that referred you, and timestamps. We collect this through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies — see Cookies & Tracking below.
Information from calls
If you call the number listed on the Site, or a form submission leads to a callback, the call may be recorded or transcribed for quality assurance, training, and compliance purposes where permitted by law. Where required, we will let you know a call may be recorded.
Information from other sources
If you submit a form through an advertising partner, landing page, or co-registration source that works with us, we may receive the information you submitted there.
2. How We Use Information
- Respond to your inquiry and have an introductory conversation about your situation;
- Determine whether, and to which resource or partner, we may refer you;
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- Communicate with you — including by phone, text, and email — about your inquiry and about Your Tax Buddy or partner offerings;
- Measure and improve the performance of our advertising;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity; and
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Calls, Texts & Your Consent
By submitting a form on the Site or otherwise providing your phone number, you consent to receive calls and text messages from Your Tax Buddy, and from referral partners where your inquiry indicates interest, at the number you provided — including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice, and text message — for informational and marketing purposes. Consent is not a condition of receiving any service. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You may revoke your consent at any time by replying “STOP” to a text message, telling a representative during a call, or using the contact details in Contact Us below.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), and similar laws in other states. These commonly include the right to:
- Know/Access — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you;
- Delete — personal information we've collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions;
- Correct — inaccurate personal information we maintain about you;
- Opt out — of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and limit use of sensitive personal information; and
- Non-discrimination — for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise a right, call us, email [email protected], or use the form on our Your Privacy Choices page. We (or a service provider acting on our behalf) will verify your request using the information you provide and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
7. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no accepted industry standard for responding to it, we do not currently respond to browser DNT signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for browsers that send it. See Your Privacy Choices for details.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with our legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party sites, such as IRS.gov or FTC.gov, for your convenience. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party site.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will reflect material changes on this page.
